Haru Shinoda has a big problem. He’s woken up in an unfamiliar body in a fantasy fairy kingdom. How did this happen??
He’s a junior accountant at Zasshi World Publishing in Tokyo. He’s a fan of isekai stories, but he never thought he’d get isekai-ed himself.
In his new life he’s Crown Prince Erik of the Airan Kingdom, where everyone is half-human and half-fairy. Erik is a beloved favorite son, the apple of King Eldrick and Princess Griselda’s eye in spite of his wild risk-taking nature. He’s super athletic and leads the kingdom’s Daredevil Squad of knights on missions.
In his real life Haru is the exact opposite of Prince Erik. How can he possibly pull this off?
And... if he’s in Erik’s body... where is Erik??
As the kingdom’s top magic user works to find the answer, Haru delves into the mystery that lies at the heart of his connection to Airan.
His clues are an antique mirror, a story told by his late grandmother, and a promise from long ago...
Join Haru and discover a world of fairy kingdoms and adventure!

This story is a spin-off from my Daredevil Prince BL books. In that series, two voice actors, one Japanese and the other American, fall in love when they play the same role in the sub/dub versions of an isekai anime. That isekai anime (not a real one, obviously) was called I Woke Up in Another Life as a Hellraising Daredevil Prince of a Fairy Kingdom.
So this is that isekai story. Unlike most of my writing, there’s no romance in it, either gay or straight. It’s straight-up fantasy isekai with a body switch at the heart of it.
You may have noticed the wonderful cover art. For the first time, I hired a professional artist to do the cover. She goes by “gem2niki” and you can find her art at many sites on the internet (just Google her name).
This is Volume 1 of a two-volume series. I had no idea what it would be like, writing a non-boy’s love story (it’s been a while, lol), but I found I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed using every detail I’ve ever seen in a fantasy isekai story, from the tavern food to the medieval clothing to the knights who defend the realm. Like seemingly all medieval fantasy anime, I put in a village matsuri scene complete with ramen and dango booths and a goldfish catch game. (Which makes no sense when you think about it, since these are Japanese festival things, but no one ever seems to notice this discrepancy...)

The ebook is also available at other sites (Apple Books, etc.) and I’m still uploading to more distribution sites. The paperback should be available in May.
The concluding volume, Vol. 2, should be released by the end of this year.
I hope you’ll enjoy this series! Next post will be on the Spring 2026 anime season and what I’m watching.
